Sally Gorton

A Surrey artist working in watercolour, pastel and oils.

Biography

I studied illustration at Epsom School of Art and for many years since I have enjoyed working in watercolour, pastel and water-based oil paints.

After teaching in Adult Education for around fifteen years, I now teach privately and specialise in beginners/improvers tuition at my home near Godalming.

I take some commissions. My subjects vary but currently include buildings, gardens, people, animals and classic cars.

I also give illustrated talks to groups and societies. These tell the story of how certain paintings were created, accompanied by some lively anecdotes!

I exhibit regularly with Guildford Art Society at Guildford House where I have been artist in residence on several occasions. I also show my work at many other Surrey venues including Cranleigh Arts Centre, Watts Gallery at Compton, The Harvey Gallery in Guildford and Vivartis exhibition at King Edward's School in Witley.
