Sally Gorton

I enjoy working in watercolour, pastel, acrylic and oil paints. My subjects can often be described as a portrait; an interesting building, an old window, the glimpse of a garden, an arresting face or sleeping animal.

Many of my pictures are of places that are off the beaten track and you may spot me cycling around south west Surrey on an old black bicycle with a large wicker basket, stocked with sandwiches, camera and a sketchbook! As well as working plein air, I will also use my own sketches and photographic reference to produce my paintings.

One-day workshops

I run workshops several times a year at the Surrey Wildlife Trust's beautiful Puck's Oak barn and orchard in Compton, near Guildford. The cost is £30 per person, including refreshments and a light lunch. They are friendly occasions and artists of all levels are welcome to attend.
